LA native Francesca Lia Block created her punk/pixie heroine as a homesick college student. Since then, the first Weetzie Bat generation has grown up and bought the books for their own kids, and Block has written dozens of other books. Including, most recently, Pink Smog, a Weetzie Bat prequel.

One of (if not ultimately) my favorite books. I finish reading it… and then I start again. 

Finally read this book last year (thanks to Hannah! ^^^) in the middle of a severe case of writer’s block. I swear as soon as I put it down, I wrote lyrics to one of the songs we just finished tracking the other day. Definitely inspiring and a must-read if you haven’t already!
